GENTLEMEN
BY CHOICE
GBC launched in response to deficiencies in social and emotional skills among young boys faced with the adverse effects of poverty. GBC’s Youth Personal and Leadership Development Program teaches the habits, attitudes, and mindsets most associated with lifelong success.
LADIES
BY CHOICE
Since its inception, GBC has expanded its services to support young ladies. Ladies by Choice adopts the same skills-based approach as GBC, emphasizing female empowerment and strategies to overcome the obstacles that disproportionately affect young girls.

VOCATIONAL
ACADEMY
GBC is committed to exposing and connecting youth to as many pathways to success as possible.
Vocational Academy launched to help close the gaps in representation of people of color holding high-demand trade jobs.
Youth ages 11-13 learn how to safely work with household tools, and explore foundational skills in trade fields like plumbing, electrical, and construction.

SUMMER
ENRICHMENT ACADEMY
The Summer Enrichment Academy (SEA) launched in response to widening proficiency gaps among students of color and students who live in poverty.
The SEA successfully diminished the erosion of reading and math proficiency by 80% based on pre- and post-assessment results.

THE LEARNING
CENTER
In response to COVID-19 district-wide school building closures, we expanded the Summer Enrichment Academy with the launch of a year-long Learning Center.
Youth urgently needed a safe environment to access school supplies, food, computers, WIFI, and hands-on academic coaching to supplement their virtual learning and reduce learning loss.
